UVB Exposure Prevents Atherosclerosis

Background: UVB is an established treatment to suppress systemic inflammatory diseases by modulating the body’s immune response.

Approach and results: Here, we show that UVB exposure inhibits the development and progression of atherosclerosis.

Conclusions: Findings suggest that UVB on the skin is effective for the treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
